Why Perform at Fierce?
The benefits of performing in Fierce are endless! Here are a few we've decided to highlight:
Boost in self-confidence
Meet fabulous people
Learn how to present yourself in front of a large audience
Learn how to dance and lip-sync
Overcome your stage fright (if you had it to begin with)
Drag Performance Examples
So you see the benefits in performing in Fierce, but haven't even seen a drag show to know what to expect. Not to worry! Youtube has some great drag performances (note that most of these are professional performers, so don't feel like you necessarily have to be at their level of drag expertise, especially in regards to outfits and singing/dancing abilities):
"Telephone", Lady Gaga
A few samples, Vanderbilt University
"Single Ladies", Beyonce
"Take a Look at My Girlfriend", Gym Class Heroes
8 Steps to Performing in Fierce Forever 11
By this point, you know the benefits, and you know what to expect when performing...but you don't know how to perform for Fierce! Check out the following steps:
1.) Pick out a song you (or you and (a) friend(s)--yes, group performances are allowed!) want to lip-sync to! Click here for a list of songs that have already been claimed. Your performance can be a maximum of five minutes in length.
2.) Plan out a rough idea of what you need in terms of your set, props, and wardrobe. This can be a rough idea of what you're hoping to portray to the audience, but make sure to really think about what you'll need so we can help you plan out the budget of your performance!
3.) Sign up here or contact us here. Feel free to contact us at any point during your creative process! We're here to make sure you have the best time in the spotlight!
4.) Plan your dance routine. Make sure you would feel comfortable doing that on stage, in front of a large audience. Also make sure you can do it in whatever wardrobe you decide to don.
5.) Practice, practice, practice!
6.) Perform at Fierce Forever 11 on April 24, 2014! Have the time of your life!
7.) Share the pictures (and/or videos) with your friends!
8.) Be proud of what you just accomplished! Celebrate!
